Podcast video...
Here is the video that my class helped me make for my podcast assignment. I choose to do a podcast of our weekly newsletter to share with parents. The students were assigned to groups and given a subject to work on. Each group came up with their own skit and what they wanted to tell parents about what we have been doing in that subject matter. I apologize that some of the students are hard to hear! It is amazing how they get quiet when a video camera is looking at them! :)
Final Movie Project
Here is a video that I have created to use in my writing curriculum. The students are expected to make a list of things that they can write about based on the Lucy Calkins curriculum. I have created this video to show my students to help them remember stories in their lives. The pictures are used to help them generate ideas. I will pause the video after a few slides to give the students time to jot down ideas. At the end of the video, we will write down any other ideas and write in other details that are important to remember for each idea.

Are you going to finish strong??

This video link is to an inspirational video on Nick Vujicic. He was born with no limbs and does inspirational talks to students to encourage them to not give up in life and to finish strong! The message of never giving up regardless of hardships encourages students to try again and again! I chose to post this video because I feel that students and teachers need to have some motivation and inspiration in life. A positive attitude is contagious and I show my students inspirational videos and photos frequently to keep them in a positive, "I can!" mindset!!

Podcast review...
I recently listened to some podcasts on iTunes. I subscribed to the "Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day" podcast. This podcast has a word of the day that they post. The podcast gives the word, meaning of the work, and example sentences. I do a "word of the day" and a "did you know..." daily in my classroom with students. I challenge them to use the word of the day throughout the day in their conversations or in their writing. This would be another avenue to teach the word of the day that uses technology. I like this podcast due to the simplicity and the quick podcasts. The podcasts are short enough to use in a classroom! I think that the students will enjoy hearing someone else's voice besides mine share the word of the day!!

Introducing...Tera Nadolski
Hello! My name is Tera Nadolski! I am using this blog for a master's class that I am currently taking. I have "blogged" before for other classes but do not do it on my own for personal reasons. Blogging is just one more thing to add to my full plate so I don't take the time to do it. I am currently a first year teacher in a 5th grade classroom, a mother to a explorative 14-month-old daughter, and taking 12 credit hours of master's classes throughout the fall semester. Needless to say my life is go, go, go!! I love every minute of it though and anxiously await every new day!
